Mr. Suzuki joined Daikyo Oil in 1985. Following an appointment as General Manager of Secretariat for Cosmo Oil in 2010, he served as Executive Officer, General Manager of Human Resource and General Affairs Dept in 2016, Executive Officer in 2018, and Representative Director, Senior Executive Officer in 2020 for Cosmo Energy Holdings. He has been assigned his current position as Representative Director, President, CEO for Cosmo Oil since April 2021. He also works as Vice President for Petroleum Association of Japan(PAJ) since 2021.

Speaker biography

After graduating from the University of Tokyo, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics in 1987, Mr. Hosaka joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (current Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)).
Since joining METI, Mr. Hosaka has served in a wide range of posts including at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, and the Economic and Industrial Policy Bureau.
After studying at the University of Michigan in the United States, he has gained experience in a wide variety of fields as Legal Review Committee member, Director of the Automobile Division, Manufacturing Industries Bureau; and Director of the Corporate Affairs Division, Economic and Industrial Policy Bureau. From 2015, he successively held the positions of Deputy Director-General of the Minister's Secretariat and Deputy Commissioner at ANRE. From 2019, he served as Director-General of the Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, from 2020 as Commissioner of ANRE, and from 2023 as Vice-Minister for International Affairs at METI. He demonstrates leadership in a wide range of policy areas. Mr. Hosaka currently serves as a senior advisor at Mizuho Bank.

Speaker biography

Majed Aluteibi is the Deputy Minister for Oil and Gas Technical & Regulatory Affairs at the Ministry of Energy in KSA. Majed has nearly 25 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry mostly with Saudi Aramco where he had held various leadership positions prior to his current post including reservoir management, drilling engineering, production engineering, and most recently leading the production operations at the famous Ghawar field. Majed holds a BS degree in chemical engineering and an MS degree in petroleum engineering. Majed was also the Chairman of the Board for the Saudi Council of Engineers between 2021 and 2023.

H.E. Mohsin Al Hadhrami – Ministry of Energy and Minerals H.E. Mohsin Al Hadhrami graduated with a degree in Geophysics from Durham University in 1995. His extensive career includes roles such as General Manager for Schlumberger Oman, Managing Director for Schlumberger East Asia, and Director of New Energy for Schlumberger MENA. In 2022, he became Undersecretary at Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals, leading efforts in clean energy innovation and driving Oman’s sustainable economic growth.

Dr. Fesharaki received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey in England and then completed a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Dr. Fesharaki founded FGE in 1984 and has recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. He is the recipient of the 2016 Adelman-Frankel Award from the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) for his unique and innovative contributions to the field of energy economics. In March 2017, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) appointed him as a Director of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME). Since 2009, he has been a member of the DME Board of Directors. Dr. Fesharaki has been appointed to the National Petroleum Council beginning in 2008 and re-appointed by the US Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm.

Hiroshi Akiya is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in the petroleum and petrochemical industry, he began my career at Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. in 1993. He had successfully led a project in FEED, EPC, and commissioning of a polycarbonate plant in Taiwan. His roles have included Operations Section Manager and Technology Section Manager at the Chiba Refinery, and he played a key role in the Nghi Son Refinery Construction Project in Vietnam as Audit Manager. After that, he served as deputy GM and GM of the Chiba Complex. Currently, he serves as Senior Executive Officer and General Manager of the Manufacturing & Technology Department, driving innovation and operational excellence.

Nobuo Tanaka is Chairman of the steering committee of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF), which was established by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2014. He was Chairman and President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation for 2015-2020. As Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) from 2007 to 2011, he initiated a collective release of oil stocks in June 2011. He also played a crucial and personal role in the strengthening of ties with major non-Member energy players, including China and India.
He began his career in 1973 in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and has served in a number of high-ranking positions, including Director-General of the Multilateral Trade System Department. He was deeply engaged in bilateral trade issues with the US as Minister for Industry, Trade and Energy at the Embassy of Japan, Washington DC. He has also served twice as Director for Science, Technology and Industry (DSTI) of the Paris-based international organization, OECD (1989-95, 2004-07). As CEO of Tanaka Global Inc, he advises several Japanese and International companies. He is a member of International Advisory Committee of TotalEnergies since 2013. He is currently Senior Executive Advisor, Air Liquide Japan. He is a member of Stakeholders Panel of Orano.

Tenny Elfrida started joining PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional in February 2024 as Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services. Previously, Tenny was Director of Finance and Business Support at PT Pertamina Gas since August 8 2023. Tenny, who started his career at PT Elnusa Tbk in 2003, previously also served as Director of HR & General Affairs at PT Elnusa Tbk for the 2020-2023 period. Tenny Elfrida won the Best Performance in Business category in 2023 Obsession Media Group (OMG) Award. Several achievements made during 2022 are clear evidence of this award. At the Human Capital on Resilience Award 2022 event, four awards were received by Tenny Elfrida. Katsunobu Hasegawa is working as Deputy General Manager in Technology & Engineering Center of Idemitsu Kosan. He is responsible for managing Engineering Design & Technical Office and System Innovation Technology Office, involving in CNX and advanced material plant construction projects and system sophistication for refining and chemical plant operation and maintenance.
He is authorized as Chartered Engineer in UK, European Engineer and Professional Engineer in Japan for materials engineering fields. He joined some JCCP technical cooperation projects such as the inspection technology transfer to Kuwait refineries. He has experienced a committee member in Japan Petroleum Institute and many others.

Mr. Tominaga joined TOYO in 1989 and is in charge of ethylene plant as process engineer. He has been involved in more than 40 ethylene projects in Japan and overseas, and carries out general engineering including design, construction, and commissioning. In 2019, the “Next Generation Technology & Application Division” so-called “T-Next”, was newly established with the mission of developing energy transition technology. As of 2021, as Deputy Unit Director of Engineering and Technology Unit and General Manager of T-Next Division, his mission is to search for seeds of new technology and plan and execute collaboration with other companies.

Hirofumi Katase currently serves I-Pulse as Executive Vice Chairman, and a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Katase is also President and CEO of G-Pulse and I-Pulse Japan.
He joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) in 1982 and most recently. served as Japan’s Vice Minister for International Affairs at METI since June 2016.
Mr. Katase earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Tokyo and a Master’s degree. in applied economics from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Mohammed AlAmer is the Manager & Chief Technologist of Fuels & Chemicals at Saudi Aramco’s Research & Development Center, responsible for the development of groundbreaking downstream technologies, such as low-carbon fuels, crude-to-chemicals, and waste recycling. Prior to his current role, Dr. AlAmer led the Innovation and Product Development Center (LAB7), poised at transforming ideas into start-up ventures. Additionally, he led Technology Commercialization, aiming to develop and execute commercialization strategies for in-house developed technologies. Prior to that, he served as an Advisor to the President of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. In 2014, Dr. AlAmer was selected to be part of the Young Leaders Advisory Board, an youth-led advisory body to Saudi Aramco’s Strategy Council. Dr. Mohammed AlAmer holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
