Mr. Suzuki joined Daikyo Oil in 1985. Following an appointment as General Manager of Secretariat for Cosmo Oil in 2010, he served as Executive Officer, General Manager of Human Resource and General Affairs Dept in 2016, Executive Officer in 2018, and Representative Director, Senior Executive Officer in 2020 for Cosmo Energy Holdings. He has been assigned his current position as Representative Director, President, CEO for Cosmo Oil since April 2021. He also works as Vice President for Petroleum Association of Japan(PAJ) since 2021. He graduated Faculty of Science and Engineering, Aoyama Gakuin University.

Moderator biography

Mr. Tsuyoshi Nakai Joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1976. He directed policy making in various fields, such as industry, trade, energy, small enterprises and high technology. He was appointed Chief Representative for China, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Organization (NEDO) Beijing office (1995-1998) and Director General of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Paris, for European and Maghreb affairs (2003-2008).
He was Corporate Vice President of Fuji Heavy Industries (SUBARU) for overseas marketing, external relations and legal affairs (2011-2014) and President of Tokyo Kiwanis Club (2020-2021). He is presently CEO of JCCP from July, 2014.
He graduated Keio University (Economics) in 1976 and studied at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston (M.A.) in 1982. He was also a Visiting Professor for Management of INSEAD (France). He was awarded the French “L' Ordre National du Merite”. In 2017, he received ABLF Award presented by H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, UAE.

Al Muthir has about 15 years of professional experience in various executive roles and a total of 27 years in Energy globally. He has led a number of organization transformations in his career and specializes on focusing on improving operational and financial performance and driving digital and technology development programs.

Al Muthir joined OQ in September 2020 and is currently the Chief Executive Strategy and Transformation, he was tasked by the Group CEO to develop the group strategy and transformation program providing the pathway for a financially and operationally robust OQ.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Glamorgan in the UK, attended an INSEAD Leadership Development course, and was awarded the Great Manager Award for senior leadership by The Economic Times of India in 2019.

Dr. Vahidreza Zeydifard started his studies in mechanical engineering (B.S) and finished with a doctorate (PhD) in strategic management. Most of his activities in the past 30 years are related to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) as a mechanical and pipeline expert, and also the head of planning management and board member of Iran Gas Transmission Company. He has worked as the general director of passive defense and crisis management for Ministry of Oil as well. In his career, he has also been as a national selected manager and once as a top selected manager for the ministry of oil.
Dr. Zeydifard has been appointed as the deputy minister of oil in Engineering, Research and Technology since 2021. He is also the main member and chairman of the board of directors of Iran Fuel conservation Company.

Dr. Fesharaki received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey in England and then completed a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. He is the recipient of the 2016 Adelman-Frankel Award from the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) for his unique and innovative contributions to the field of energy economics. In March 2017, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) appointed him as a Director of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME). Since 2008 he has been appointed to the National Petroleum Council and most recently re-appointed by the current US Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm.

Dr. Prahoro Nurtjahyo joined the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2016 as the Senior Advisor to the Minister for Investment and Development of Infrastructure. Since 2020, he is assigned as the Head of Human Resource Development Agency in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Prahoro has a vast experience in the energy sector, one of which as the Vice President and COO of Petroneering in Houston, Texas, USA between the years of 2013 to 2016. Education-wise, Prahoro received both his Masters and Doctoral degree from Texas A&M University, USA, while his graduate degree was undertaken at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November, Indonesia.
As Indonesia begins its G20 Presidency in 2022 and the addition of his valuable experience in the energy sector, Prahoro is appointed as Co-chair of the Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG), which focuses on energy security, access and efficiency, and the transition to low-carbon energy systems, as well as investment and innovation in cleaner and more efficient technologies. Additionally, he is also a great father, husband, brother, farmer and friend.

Farehana Hanapiah is the Senior Vice President of Group Human Resource Management at PETRONAS and possesses an extensive 33-year career within the company.

At Human Resource, she revamped the learning and development approach, introduced digital learning and enhanced leadership development programmes, and reformed the human capital management operating model to address PETRONAS’ growth strategy. Mr. Mohamed Al Musharfy is holding BCs in chemical engineering obtained from UAE University, he started his carrier in ADNOC Refining back in 2003 when he joined as planning and coordination analyst looking after short, mid and long term plans for ADNOC Refineries.
After that, Mr. Al Musharfy joined the business studies and development department at which he was initiating and managing business/development studies which are later converted to projects.
Currently Mr. Al Musharfy is the Vice President of ADNOC Refining Research Centre & Quality Control, he was amongst the first employees who moved to the Research Centre when it was established in 2012.
Being the Vice President of the research center and quality control, he is responsible for setting all R&D strategies, and managing all necessary studies that will turn to a promising projects in the future.
In addition to that, he is also responsible for assuring the highest quality of ADNOC refining products are being met in both local and global market.
